Brothers and Sisters,
Christmas is approaching quickly, and I want to highlight our Christmas Eve service.
I’m thrilled with the opportunity to celebrate the birth of Christ with you, and I look forward to seeing you there. Please plan to attend, and come prepared to celebrate the good news of the birth of our Savior.
A few weeks ago, I talked about the importance and the effectiveness of inviting others to church. As our Christmas Eve service approaches, I’d like to reiterate that message. Personal invitation is one of the most effective methods for church growth. It’s highly effective, and we can all invite someone.
My experience is that personal invitations to church are even more effective around the holidays. People often have an increased openness to spiritual matters and to giving church a chance in the Christmas season. That being the case, I’d like to ask each one of us to invite someone to church for Christmas Eve this year. It will be an excellent opportunity for those who are invited to see the true meaning of this season, to hear the gospel, and to learn why the birth of Jesus matters, not just in theory, but in our lives. The good news of Christmas is too good to keep to ourselves. Let’s invite others to know that joy this year.
In Christ,
Fr. Caleb Evans
