Brothers and Sisters,
Holy Week and Easter are approaching quickly. As we draw nearer to Holy Week and Easter, I’d like to encourage you to prepare to enter fully into this portion of the church year, and to do so in a couple of ways. First, I’d encourage you to attend our Holy Week services. I’m certainly aware that attending all of the services is a significant time commitment. That said, it’s worth your time. The services of Holy Week help us to come to a deeper appreciation of Christ’s suffering and death on our behalf. I find that the services of Holy Week, even as somber as they are, provide a time of spiritual renewal. I hope to see you there.
I also hope to see you at our Easter service. Celebrating the risen Lord is, of course, a great joy for us, but it’s more than joy for us. The good news of Easter is good news for the entire world. Because that’s the case, we’re called to share it. One of the simplest ways to do so is to invite someone to join you at church on Easter Sunday. It’s an easy opportunity for others to hear the gospel. As part of your celebration of Easter this year, would you invite someone to join you at church?
My hope for us in this season is that we draw closer to Jesus, and that we pursue opportunities to share Jesus with others.
In Christ,
Fr. Caleb
