I no longer live in Yuma but visited this past summer. This church was so welcoming and lovely. They are a small church and do not have the bells and whistles that a lot of other churches in Yuma do. The congregation is older, but most Yuma churches tend to skew older. While unsure at first glance, this church totally surprised me. They did not make me feel awkward by ignoring me (as other churches I’ve visited in Yuma) or by putting the spotlight on me. They were simply friendly and warm. The music was simple but well done. The whole congregation participated in the whole service. The sermon was fantastic. It was expositional, filled with more than platitudes and catchy quips/slogans, and showed both the pastor’s skill and studiousness. He takes preaching seriously. I would make this my home church in a heartbeat if I lived there.
