Brothers and Sisters,
The vestry and I want to share an update with you about our parish’s financial situation. It should be said that Lord has been faithful to this church over many years, and we trust His provision now.
We’ve started to see a pattern of our expenses exceeding our offerings. In October, we had a shortfall of about $3,000, and current patterns suggest we may continue to face financial challenges in the coming months. Several necessary expenses have increased this year, and we don’t want financial concerns to distract us from the mission God has given us — to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
I believe this is something we can face together as a church family, trusting in the Lord’s provision. With that in mind, I want to ask that all of us pray specifically that the Lord will continue to meet our needs. I also encourage each of us — myself included — to prayerfully consider our own financial support of the parish. It’s always good practice to do that as the year ends.
Some of our members have shared that they’ve recently felt led to increase their financial support of the congregation, and I want to express my gratitude to them, and to all of you, for the many ways you give of your time, talent, and treasure.
And just to be clear — this isn’t a shakedown! It’s simply an invitation to pray together and to consider how God might be calling each of us to give and serve as we seek to reach our community with the gospel.
Please don’t hesitate to approach me or our treasurer with any questions. I feel so blessed that we get to walk together by faith as a church family.
In Christ,
Fr. Caleb Evans
